1. Garage Marker
The garage is one of the original structures on the site. It was built in 1919 while the house was still under construction. This building typifies the ornate detail for which builders John and George Munro were known.
All of the framing lumber used was rough sawn tamarack that had been taken off the Purdy's land. The interior of the garage was finished with plastered walls and tongue and groove beaded boards on the ceiling. The front of the garage has two sliding doors that slide on an open track. The arbor that adorns the front of the garage is very unique and is supported by 7 round wooden columns. It sits on a poured foundation with a cement floor and approach.
The garage restoration was completed in 2010 when it was brought back to its original design.
