The sawmill building was built in the winter of 2007-2008. It is a 48 ft x 100 ft structure designed to house a Russell & Co. circular sawmill made in Massillon, Ohio, in the early 1900's. It also houses a four head planer made by Witherby Rug & Richardson of Worcester, Mass ; and a flat belt driven swing saw, along with other related logging equipment.

In the Spring of 2007, a 13 ft x 100 ft addition was added to the building to become the sawmill museum. Displayed are loggin memorabilia and tools and equipment from the 1870's to the present. We've added a working veneer machine to our display and demonstrate the making of veneer. A veneer is a thin slice of wood, thinner than 1/8 inch that is glued onto core panels to produce flat panels such as doors, tops and panels for cabinets, floors or furniture. The dole machine is fully operational.

It requires 12 volunteers to fully operate the sawmill and all the displays.
