1. Wood Barrels of Cement Marker
Inscription. The first chapel of Grace Parish was moved to Cuero by Bishop Gregg in A.D., 1874. The storm of September 15, 1875, sank a ship loaded with wood barrels of cement at the Port of Indianola. ...storms and high tides washed this and several other hardened barrels of cement ashore. They were collected to become the foundation for a second chapel of Grace Parish, c. 1888, while stood at Live Oak and South Guadalupe Streets until the storm of 1945 demolished it.
