1. Fremont Saloon Marker
Inscription. Louis Anderson began his illustrious career in Ballard as a barber in 1891. He quickly became involved in the thriving saloon business, fronting bonds for various bar owners' liquor licenses. By 1902 he had opened his own saloon, the Fremont Saloon, on Ballard Avenue. In 1906 he moved the Fremont Saloon to this building, where it operated until Prohibition. A successful businessman, Mr. Anderson purchased and built several buildings in the area. He even dabbled in politics, serving as councilman-at-large for the Ballard city government in 1905.

Built ca. 1905
