Florida Units participated in victorious campaigns in the South-West Pacific. Depicts location of primary assaults against major enemy resistance.
The Florida National Guard troops of the 31st Infantry Division and the 265th Coast Artillery Regiment who were mobilized for World War II service and who so gallantly defended our nation and its allies from foreign aggression.
The units of the Florida National Guard engaged in military campaigns across the breadth of the Pacific. In addition, a number of Florida troops volunteered or were reassigned to the Army Air Corps. Airborne Divisions, and other units with World Wide Campaigns.
The 265th Coast Artillery provided harbor and coast defense in the Aleutian Chain Islands named were defensive positions.
