1. Ideal Decorating Center Marker
Inscription. The location of the Youngheim Clothing Co. for the better part of a century. In 1901, Herman Youngheim arrived at Ellis Island from Bad Wildengen, Germany.

Shortly after arriving in New York City, his family put him on a train to meet his brother Adolph in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Since he couldn't speak English, his uncle put a name tag on his coat along with the name of his brother. Upon meeting, the two brothers rode into Anadarko, where they would open up the Youngheim Clothing Company.

The first store was a lean-to and their home, but with time they were able to relocate the store to larger venues. This very building being the final location in Anadarko until 1968 when it was divided into two stores Hedrick's Sewing & Fabric Shop and Allen's Western Wear. In the 1970's Hedrick's became The Calico Patch. In 1991 Allen's Western Wear would become Bootsie's Western Wear and Ideal Decorating Center purchased the Building in 1997 and remodeled back into one store in 2007.

Erected by City of Anadarko.
