Inscription. After decades of dormancy, Cleveland was awakened by the Indians steamrolling to an A.L. Central Division Title, their first title in 41 years. Their record of 100-44 allowed them to win the division by a MLB record 30 games. Thrilling victories were the theme in ’95. Two highlights included Tony Pena’s 13th inning home run at 2am to give tribe 5-4 win in ALDS Game One and Kenny Lofton scoring from second on a passed ball in ALCS to send the Indians to their first World Series since 1954. Despite the Indians falling to the Braves 4-2 in the World Series, it was a magical year and start of a new era.
