Inscription.  
A tribute to Gold Star Families and Relatives who sacrificed a Loved One for our Freedom

HOMELAND [The first panel has an image of Mount Rushmore.]

FAMILY [The second panel has a silhouette of a family,
parents with young children, all holding hands.]

PATRIOT [The third panel shows the famous World War II image of
US Marines raising the US flag on Iwo Jima's Mount Suribachi.]

[Comprising the peak of the memorial, the cutout represents the
lost service member, in an eternal salute to the family's sacrifice.]

SACRIFICE [The fourth panel depicts the fallen's flagged-draped coffin
on a caisson, among rows and rows of marble headstones,
(presumably images from Arlington National Cemetery).]
