Regarding An Arthur L. Pillsbury Design. This is among 435 houses that Pillsbury designed during his long career, of which more than 100 still stand in the Bloomington-Normal area. He is best-known (along with architects George Miller and Paul Moratz) for designing and rebuilding Bloomington's downtown after it was destroyed in a 1900 fire, as well as several schools in the area.
