Overdue Thanks, The war nobody wanted Was fought so long ago Just how many lives were lost? I guess we'll never know., Standing in this hallowed place, It's like I'm talking face to face With those of you on the other side. I feel the presence of the ones who've died., Our generation of fighting men, I often think what could have been? Some went to war, not fully grown.
