Weilbacher General Store. 207 N Main St. Leo A. Weilbacher Sr. began his business career with the Columbia Mercantile Co. at another location on Main Street in 1909. To this business, an ice cream parlor was added in 1914 and later, groceries, dry goods, hardware, paints and household items. Advertising worked well for the Weilbachers, who enlarged their business throughout the years and eventually settled in this larger building in 1928. The store opened to the public in 1929 and operated at this location until the 1970s. The building has been altered to provide for several offices which serve multiple tenants. .
