Inscription. This garden was designed for color, to be xeric, and to educate the public about the materials used by the Spanish colonial artists. The native plants were and are used by Hispano artists primarily to create paints and textile dyes, but other plants have been included such as the yucca used for paintbrushes and soap, corn which provided husks for straw applique artists, and aspen for Cordova-style woodcarving. Thank you to the many volunteers who made this garden possible.
