Regarding Original Del Taco. The founder was a former Taco Bell employee (as were the founders of Der Wienerschnitzel, Naugles, and Baker’s).
This location is no longer a Del Taco.
In 1964, a second Del Taco location opened at 401 N 1st Ave, Barstow. It is still open, and still owned by the original family. They call it The Original Del Taco, leading many to believe it’s the first location.
Del Taco has approximately 600 locations in 16 US states, mostly in California.
Jack in the Box acquired Del Taco in 2022, and sold it in 2025.
