Inscription. It was simple. Elegant. And a favorite of George Washington. It came from an old English country dance that had first been published by Sir Roger de Coverley in 1685. By the 1800s, it was spinning through schoolhouses and barns across America. Because everyone could participate in this familiar reel, it was usually reserved for the final dance of the night. Even today, the last dance still belongs to Virginia.
