When Barron and Lawrence took over the location, they implemented the trending financial structure of selling all of their products for either 5 or 10 cents exactly, a concept made famous by F.W. Woolworth in 1878. A successful five-and-dime store during its time, after the increase in prices to both customers and owner, the Barron and Lawrence 5 and 10 Cent Store moved out of its location downtown.
