1. 16th and State Marker
Inscription. Morris Hall was built as a campus school for training teachers in 1939. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. La Crosse Senator Thomas Morris pushed legislation through the State Legislature in 1905 to authorize a Normal School for the instruction of teachers at La Crosse.
 
Erected 1999 by the City of La Crosse, the City's Historic Preservation Commission and the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. (Marker Number 13.)
