Regarding Charles C. Hurd Residence. This two-story home was built as a showpiece to entice buyers into the new subdivision of Victoria Park. Named after first resident Charles Hurd, a mortgage and investment banker from Nebraska whose company underwrote many of the residential homes in Victoria Park. The exterior is unpainted, and clad in shingles. Many windows and doors feature triangular peaks. Fine woodwork is featured throughout the interior.
