Inscription. On June 10, 1835, Joseph and Catharine Foster deeded a town lot to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church, with the stipulation that the property was to be used only for a church. The Burlington Methodist Episcopal Church congregation built their house of worship in the popular Greek Revival style in 1837. The building was completely remodeled in the late Gothic Revival style in 1923 and it became an antique shop in 1992.
