Year Played in Macon: 1962
Years in MLB: 1963-1986 Pete Rose is a three-time World Series Champion and holds the Major League Baseball record for most hits in a career. Rose played in Macon for one season with the Macon Peaches (Cincinnati affiliate) in 1962. This was the last Macon baseball team to win a championship. After one year in Macon, Rose was called up to the Reds where he would go on to win 1963 NL Rookie of the Year, 1973 NL MVP, two Gold Gloves, three batting titles, a Silver Slugger and be selected to 17 different All-Star games. Rose also won three World Series Championships with the Reds and the World Series MVP in 1975. Pete Rose will go down in history as one of the best hitters to ever play the game of baseball, having a great ability to put the ball in play at almost every at bat.
