1. Herndon Theatre Marker
Inscription. This building was built in 1921 by Thomas E. Reed as the Herndon Theatre. Reed operated the building as a movie house for several years. He sold it to Henry Lego who continued to operate the theater. Up until its closure in the 1960s, the Herndon Theatre was an important social venue in Herndon. In addition to showing movies, the theater provided meeting space, held dances, and hosted live performances.
