Regarding Second Church of Christ, Scientist. Designed by noted Los Angeles architect Alfred H. Rosenheim, construction was completed in 1910.
In 1968 the church was designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No. 57.
In 1987 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
From 1986 to 1995 the church was used as the courthouse in the weekly television crime drama Matlock.
In 2009 the church was sold to the Art of Living Foundation, restored, and is now used as a community center, music venue, lecture hall, and for meditation programs.
