Regarding Kinsey Flats. According to Centennial History of Cincinnati and Representative Citizens, Vol. 2 by Charles Theodore Greve, the company initially was operated by Ebenezer Ammidown Kinsey. A native of Cincinnati's Mt. Auburn neighborhood, Kinsey began his career with Post & Company as an office boy after graduation from school. He worked his way up to company vice president, then purchased its mercantile department in December 1890 and later renamed it E.A. Kinsey Company. Kinsey died in 1894 at just 28 years of age, but his company continued to
operate for at least another two decades.
