Regarding Greendale. Excerpt from the National Register nomination:
…The house was built in 1843 by William Resor, a descendant of Isaac G. Burnet who was the first mayor of Cincinnati and partner of Nicholas Longworth, Sr. Resor acquired his wealth from the first stove factory in Cincinnati which he established in 1819. Later he was one of the founders of the zoo and a member of the group that established the Cincinnati Art Museum. The house originally fronted on Clifton Avenue, but it was turned and moved in the 1890's. It now faces Greendale Avenue which takes its name from the original estate.
