Pemberville in Wood County, Ohio — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
Freedom Post 183
Pemberville, Ohio 43450
Sixteen Flags stand straight and tall,
In front of this Memorial Hall.
They remind us of lives men and women did give,
So that "Free From Tyranny, we all might live.
Sixteen Flags in gentle breezes wave,
Sixteen lives that men and women gave;
If they had one plea, it would be this,
"Please Don't Forget, Remember Us."
Sixteen lives, World War I, cost five,
In World War II, ten didn't survive,
In the War in Korea, there were none,
And in the War in Vietnam, we lost one.
Re-assigned, the boys down here would say,
To that Headquarters Company, far, far away.
The Commander in Chief, is God of us All;
One day we too, will answer His call,
So sleep, then Comrades, sleep on and rest,
And know that we have done our best;
That in each and every single way,
We remember you, this Memorial Day.
