1. 1942 M5 - 3" Howitzer Marker

Inscription. The US Army shipped this cannon to Knoxville to replace a Civil War cannon that was retired in 1902. The Civil War gun was added to the scrap pile and melted down during WWII.

This canon was officially donated to the
American Legion Post 168
in April, 1948

The cannon is dedicated to all the
veterans of Marion County who have
served our country.
