2. John Waters' Legacy
Since the release of this film, John Waters has not been able to find studio backing for another film. Unfortunately, the MPAA gave the film an NC-17 rating and refused to budge or provide notes on how to have the rating lowered. Unfortunately, this prevented many cinemas from being willing to show the film throughout the country, and the film performed poorly as a result.

3. Bear Culture and A Dirty Shame
This film features one of the earlier presentations of bear culture in media. Bears are larger gay men with an aesthetic value on having larger, huskier builds and body hair. The film features a triad of bears, all local to the DC-Baltimore region, who at one point hold a bear house party, featuring gay men from the DC-Baltimore bear community.
