Inscription.

James Pinchot commissioned Calvert Vaux to erect
this rusticated stone building. The street level
contained a post office and pharmacy. The upper level
was a studio residence for artists of the
Hudson River School.

 
Erected by Historic Preservation Trust of Pike County.
