Ocala in Marion County, Florida — The American South (South Atlantic)
The William G. Marshall House
Wm. Marshall, Ocalas leading contractor since 1880, built this Classic Revival home for his wife, Lily, in 1906. Intricate exterior plasterwork between each story and plaster ionic capping at the top of each column have lent people to call it The Wedding Cake House. An ashlar stone wall and original gate defines the front walkway.
