Inscription. Original Site of Bay City Grammar School built in 1903, renamed Seal Beach Grammar School in 1915. Destroyed by the 1933 Long Beach Earthquake and reconstructed in 1934, the school was renamed Mary E. Zoeter Elementary School in 1956 in honor of Mary E. Zoeter, a long-time member of the Seal Beach Board of Trustees.
