Regarding 120 East Montgomery Street. Baltimore City surrounds Federal Hill. Immediately north and to the east of the Hill is the harbor of Baltimore City which is deep enough to serve large cargo vessels. The Baltimore Drydock Yards of the Bethlehem Steel Company occupy the length of the waterfront to the east of the Federal Hill area. Several hundred early dwelling houses remain from the eighteenth century and mid-nineteenth century. These were originally, and are still, occupied by merchants and seamen associated with waterfront industries.
