This bank was organized as a state bank on December 1, 1880, by B. L. Harding, Henry Stivers and W. W. Wick, of Clark County, Iowa, and W. D. Hazen, Alden K. Riley, James McConnell, Merrills Barton and John Coenen, of Harlan, under the name of the Shelby County Bank, with a paid-up capital of $50,000.
