David Young, the last manager of the Excelsior finally dropped the Excelsior name in 1942 when the store became a Super Valu chain store. , In 1955 the Amsberry Paint, Glass and Wallpaper store relocated here from further down the block. Amsberry's enjoyed a long residence here until their closing in 1982. After a brief vacancy, the building was refitted and became Paul's Pizza and Steak House. Its current resident, Winn's Pizza opened in 2003 and remains a popular family restaurant today.
