After 75 years of business, the People's Bank closed its doors for the last time in 1994. Following in the tradition, Homeland Bank, Magna Bank and the Union Planter's Bank each resided at this location. The most recent resident — Regions Bank, who bought out Union Planter's Bank, opened its doors in 2006 and continues to thrive as of the creation of this plaque.
