Plaque is part of Honor Our KIA, a community initiative to commemorate Griffin and Spalding County soldiers who have died during combat since World War I. Each plaque is accompanied by a QR code that links to the soldier's biography on the project's website.
 
Regarding Pvt. Rufus Graham. He was among a dozen African American soldiers from Spalding County who were not originally listed on the county's World War I memorial. The names of these "Forgotten Soldiers" were added in 2016.
