a community initiative to commemorate Griffin and Spalding County soldiers who have died during combat since World War I. Each plaque is accompanied by a QR code that links to the soldier's biography on the project's website.
 
Regarding Pfc. Wiley Gwin King. He was killed in fighting near the Po River in Germany just two days before Germany's unconditional surrender. He was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart and other commendations.
