This residence was built at the same time as Henry L. Kuns’ home at the north end of the block. James M. Johnson was married to Kuns' daughter, Ora Lamb Kuns. Johnson owned the Lordsburg Garage & Machine Shop. He also maintained streets for the city of Lordsburg.
