Inscription.
Characteristics: The De Brazza's Monkey is medium-bodied primate native to Central Africa. They have a distinctive white mustache and beard. Their bodies are olive gray and they have a reddish-brown crest n their forehead. They are a sexually dimorphic species, meaning the males and females differ in appearance. They are excellent swimmers and usually inhabit areas that are close to rivers and streams. Primarily arboreal they will occasionally go to the ground to forage for food. Not wanting to be exposed for long periods of time, they will quickly gather and store food in their cheek pouches. Then they will move back into the canopy and take their time eating.

Habitat: Associated with riverine forest habitats of Central Africa.

Diet: Primarily fruits and seeds. They also eat leaves, flowers, insects, small reptiles and small birds.

Conservation: This species is relatively common across its range and is considered Least Concern by IUCN. They do, however, face threats from deforestation and illegal hunting.
