1. First Permanent Home in Baraboo Marker
Inscription.  On this site in 1839 first permanent home in Baraboo was erected by Abraham Wood, who with Wallace Rowan, built nearby in 1840, the first sawmill and dam on the Baraboo River.
 
Erected 1926 by Sauk County Historical Society.
