Inscription.
Belgium's Korea Volunteer Corps, Corps Volontaires Corea was comprised of 900 Infantry troops. The 1st Belgium Battalion, 1st Bataillon Belge arrived in December 1950 and was attached to the U.S. 3rd Infantry Division in January 1951. It was replaced by the 2nd Belgium Battalion, 2nd Bataillon Belge in Aug. 1951. The 2nd Belgium Battalion remained in Korea until June 1955. Additionally, a 44-man all volunteer infantry platoon from Luxembourg served with the Belgium Battalion throughout the war. 97 men were killed in action and 355 men were wounded. .
