Inscription.  Workers carved stone blocks and hand-hewed timbers for most projects. This labor-intensive method resulted in distinctive and sturdy buildings such as the North Shore Bath House and the headquarters building. Other buildings include two toilet/shower buildings and a stone shelter in the Northern Lights Campground. All buildings are labeled with a CCC logo.

CCC crews did most of their work by hand. They hauled rock and supplies up steep bluffs and cut firewood without the aid of chainsaws. They also worked year round in bitter cold and searing heat.
