In loving memory of
Corporal Joseph Brubaker, Jr.
U.S. Marine Corps, who died in action Feb. 4, 1969. South of Da Nang, Quang Nam Province, Republic of South Vietnam, while participating as Crew Chief of a helicopter flying in support of the U.S. Marine Forces involved in Operation Lynn River. From Jan. 13, 1967 to Feb. 4, 1969, Corporal Brubaker served with the Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 362, 1st Marine Air Wing, during which period he received 31 Air Medals, 3 U.S. and 2 Vietnamese citations for his disregard of personal safety under the most hazardous of conditions.

This memorial, erected by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brubaker, honors a son who in life was to them what he later became to his country.

Dedicated on June 4th 1972 by brother Marines of the Marine Barracks, Fort Meade, Maryland; 4th Engineer Battalion, Baltimore, Maryland; and Marines assigned to Fort Ritchie, Maryland. Senior Officer present, Lieutenant Colonel Walter E. Sears, USMC.
