1. Robert Curry Mansion Marker
Inscription.  This mansion was built by Robert Curry as a result of the "Great Fire” of 1886. The fire leveled the Curry family home, businesses, and two thirds of the business district. After his death the mansion became the home of the southernmost Elks Lodge. They mounted a large taxidermy elk with a sizable rack between the two gable roofs of the front porch. For years the lodge's symbol proclaimed the presence of the fraternal organization throughout the Florida Keys.
