of Mann Construction for more than 35 years, built numerous Wilmington-area communities, including Vilone Village and Fairfax. He is well-known for the Fairfax community, now among the oldest, most stable developments in northern New Castle County. Mr. Vilone helped hundreds of families buy houses by providing second mortgages on a hand-shake agreement only. He was one of the founders of the Home Builders Association of Delaware and was vice president of the National Home Builders Association of the Region III area. Mr. Vilone was one of the founders of the Cavaliers of Delaware, a civic organization. He was the driving force to build the Cavalier Country Club. The organization honored him in 1959 for his service.
He built the Penn Oaks Country Club in Delaware County PA which he owned and operated from 1964 until 1990. Mr. Vilone was a benefactor to many different Catholic parish-building programs and children's charities worldwide. He was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church. He died on New Years Day in 1998 at age 93.
