On the other side of the trees at the back of the clearing run the tracks of the NJ Transit Morristown line which was originally built by the Morris and Essex Railroad in 1837 to connect Newark to Summit. The M & E was merged into the Delaware Lackawanna and Western Railroad in 1945.

The Wyoming train station no longer exists and given that the DL & W acquired the M & E over seventy years after the event described here, it can be argued that the marker is incorrect as the Wyoming Station was operated by the M & E at the time of the meeting, not the DL & W.

The Wyoming Presbyterian Church was built in 1875 and is located two blocks away, at the intersection of Linden Street and Wyoming Avenue.
