The Oldest Church
The red-brick Dutch Reformed Church—now simply the Reformed Church—was built in 1850 and is the oldest surviving non-domestic building in the village. Its design was based on sketches by A.J. Davis (inset), architect of Lyndhust in Tarrytown. The complex also includes a mansard-roofed manse (built perhaps from locally quarried stone) and an 1869 granite chapel. The church's original façade was altered after this 1920s postcard was printed.
