1. The Twillman House Marker
Inscription. The Twillman House was described in 1911 as "one of the most imposing and beautiful country homes in this section." German immigrant Johann Heinrich Twillman (1827-1882) built the house of handmade brick in 1870 on 370 acres of farmland. The one-story wing was added after 1945, when the family sold the house and it became a well-known restaurant. The Spanish Lake Community Association acquired the house in 2005. It is now the Spanish Lake Community Center.
