The Roxy Theatre. . Originally constructed as the New Lincoln Theatre by the architectural firm of Miller and Warnecke, this building housed Pleasanton's first moving picture house and opened in 1927. In 1937 the theatre became The Roxy Theatre after an ownership change. In 1955, due to the popularity of drive-in theatres, the Roxy closed. The building has since been occupied by Sletten's Department Store followed by Daughtery's Department Store and more recently Main Street Antiques prior to its rebirth in 1999 as The Wine Steward at the Roxy , . This historical marker was erected by Wine Steward at the Roxy. It is in Pleasanton in Alameda County California
