1. Bond-Horton Building Marker
Inscription. Building constructed in 1880 by Chester G. Bond, Attorney at Law. From 1880-1990 many an attorney owe their careers to the guidance given them at this location. The attorneys shared the space for a few years with insurance agents who took their lead and trained young men and women to become adjusters and agents. In 1990 David Horton purchased the building from Judge LaFon, remodeling it into his office space and living quarters in downtown tradition. May 2003 the storms came, when the sun rose the next morning the damage was extensive. David Horton was determined to bring his beloved building back. 2004 - After months of restoring and adding a beautiful new balcony, the building stands proud.
