1. The Carnegie Library Marker
Inscription. Built in 1910 with $7500 donated by Scottish-born industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, this building served as the county library for 82 years. In 1957 it became the Brownsville-Haywood County Library, part of Tennessee's regional library program. It remained open until 1992 when the library moved to a larger facility.

In 1993, the community -- with the support of city, county, and state governments--restored it as a home for the Chamber of Commerce.
