1. 1401 Main Street Marker

Inscription. This two-story building is one of the oldest structures in downtown Humboldt. It was built shortly after the Civil War. One of the first occupants was the grocery firm of Waddill & Stobaugh. It survived the 1881 fire that destroyed most of downtown and was home to E.M. Hamilton and Rogers Jewelry. The basement once housed a restaurant & bar in the 1870's and a shoe store in the mid 1900's. This building was restored in 2012 by the Gamble family.
